Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your use of Ajwa Hub. In short: read the site freely, quote it with credit, do not republish it wholesale, and treat everything on it as information rather than advice. We work hard on accuracy but we do not guarantee it, prices and availability change constantly, and anything you decide to buy or eat remains your decision.

Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Ajwa Hub. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Ajwa Hub. “You” means anyone who accesses the site, whether as a casual reader, a researcher, a journalist or an automated agent.
“Ajwa Hub” and “the site” mean the website at this domain, including the Arabic section at /ar/, every article, every policy page, the contact form, and any newsletter sent from it.
Accepting these terms
By using the site you accept these terms. That acceptance happens through use: there is no box to tick, because there is nothing to sign up for.
If you do not accept them, the remedy is to stop using the site. We do not ask you to agree to anything in order to read a page, so declining costs you nothing beyond the reading.
If you are using the site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.
What this site is
Ajwa Hub is an independent informational publication about Ajwa dates, other date varieties, date nutrition, culinary uses, buying guidance and the heritage of the Madinah growing region. Everything on it is editorial: researched, written and published by us.
Access is free. There is no account, no paywall and no subscription. We may earn affiliate commission and may in future carry display advertising, both of which are disclosed on the affiliate and advertising disclosure page.
What this site is not
It helps to be explicit, because the subject matter attracts three specific misreadings.
It is not a shop. We do not sell dates, we hold no stock, we take no orders and we do not handle payments. Where we link to a seller, that seller is the one you contract with. We are not a party to that transaction, we cannot intervene in it, and we have no ability to arrange a refund, chase a delivery or verify a batch on your behalf.
It is not a medical or nutrition service. Nothing on the site is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation, and reading it does not create a practitioner relationship. This matters most to readers managing diabetes, pregnancy or any other condition where carbohydrate intake is clinically relevant. The full position is set out in the disclaimer.
It is not a fatwa service. We report narrations and scholarly positions from recognised sources and we say where scholars differ. We do not issue religious rulings and we are not qualified to. For a ruling that applies to your own circumstances, ask a qualified scholar. This is also covered in the disclaimer.
Permitted use
You may read, bookmark, print and share pages for your own personal, educational or non-commercial research purposes. You may quote short extracts with attribution, as set out below. You may link to any page.
You may not
- Copy, republish, mirror, syndicate or redistribute substantial parts of the site, in any medium, without our written permission
- Scrape or harvest the site at scale, including for the purpose of training a machine learning model or populating a competing content database, except where applicable law expressly permits it and only within those limits
- Remove, obscure or alter any attribution, byline, source citation, “last checked” date or copyright notice
- Present our content as your own, or as the output of an unrelated publication or tool
- Strip price tables, nutrition figures or research summaries out of their surrounding caveats and republish the numbers alone, which is how accurate information becomes misleading
- Introduce malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting or its database, or probe it for vulnerabilities without permission
- Place load on the site that degrades it for other readers, including through automated requests at an unreasonable rate
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that exposes us to legal liability
Automated access for legitimate search engine indexing is welcome. Automated access that ignores the site’s robots.txt, spoofs a user agent or circumvents rate limiting is not.
Who owns what is on the site
Ownership divides by content type, and your position differs for each, so each type is set out separately rather than folded into one paragraph.
Our content
The text, structure, tables, research summaries, comparison frameworks, editorial judgements, headings, page organisation, design and code of this site are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and database rights. Our name, logo and branding are our trade marks whether or not they are formally registered.
Copyright protects the expression rather than the underlying facts. A price in a table and a measured fruit weight are facts, and facts cannot be owned. The way we have selected, arranged, explained and caveated them is ours.
Images and photographs
Images on the site fall into three groups, and your position differs for each.
Photographs we own or have commissioned are covered by the paragraph above. Images licensed from a stock library or a photographer are used under a licence that permits our use and does not permit onward use by you, so copying them exposes you to a claim from the original rights holder, not just from us. Images used with permission from a third party, including seller product photography, remain the property of that party.
Because the licence terms differ image by image, the safe assumption is that no image on this site may be reused. If you need one, ask.
Third party material
Where we quote research, cite a published source, name a seller or reference a Hadith collection, those materials belong to their own rights holders. Our use is attributed quotation for the purposes of reporting and commentary. Citing a source is not a claim to own it, and it is not an endorsement by that source of us.
Using our content elsewhere
We would rather be quoted well than not quoted at all, so here is what is actually permitted without asking.
Short quotations. You may quote a short extract, up to roughly a paragraph, in an article, review, academic paper, presentation or forum post, provided you attribute it to Ajwa Hub and link to the specific page you took it from. A link to the homepage is not attribution.
Citation in research. Cite us as you would any other publication, with the page title, URL and the date you accessed it. Our price pages carry a visible “last checked” date for exactly this reason: a price quoted without its date is a misquote.
Linking. Link to any page, with any reasonable anchor text. Do not frame our pages inside your own site in a way that suggests the content is yours, and do not link in a way that implies we endorse you or your product.
Teaching. Use pages in a classroom or training setting, with attribution and without charging for the content itself.
Anything beyond that, including translation, republication in full, inclusion in a commercial database or product, or use in a paid course, needs written permission. Ask at [email protected]. We are reasonable about genuine requests and we answer them.
Permission that has been given once does not extend to later reuse, and it does not transfer to anyone else.
Comments and anything else you submit
Where comments are enabled, or where you otherwise send us material through the contact form, by email or in response to a call for reader input, this section applies.
What you are responsible for
You are responsible for what you submit. By submitting it you confirm that it is yours to submit, that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and that it is not unlawful.
Do not submit:
- Anything defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene or discriminatory
- Anyone’s personal information, including your own health details or those of a family member
- Religious rulings presented as authoritative, or Hadith wording you have not verified in a recognised collection
- Medical claims about what dates cure, prevent or treat
- Commercial promotion, affiliate links, spam or SEO link placement
- Material that infringes copyright, including long extracts from other publications
What we may do with it
We may publish, decline to publish, edit for length or clarity, or remove a submission at any time, with or without notice and without being obliged to give a reason. We moderate for the reasons above and because a comment thread on health and religious subject matter can mislead readers if left unmanaged.
Removing a comment is not a judgement on you. Leaving one up is not an endorsement of it. Comments express the view of the person who wrote them.
The licence you give us
By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt and display it on the site and in connection with it, and to sub-license it to our service providers to the extent needed to host and deliver the site. You keep ownership of what you wrote.
This licence exists so that we can publish your comment and keep it on the page. It is not a transfer of your copyright, and it does not let us sell your words as a product.
Your details
What we collect when you comment, and how long it stays, is set out in the privacy policy.
Accuracy: what we promise and what we do not
We take accuracy seriously and we have built the site around it. Claims are researched before publication, sources are cited and named, health content distinguishes established evidence from preliminary findings, religious content is traced to a recognised collection, and price and availability information carries a visible date showing when it was last checked. Our standards are set out on the editorial policy page.
What we do not do is guarantee that every statement is correct and current at the moment you read it. Specifically:
Prices change constantly. Every price on this site is a time-stamped example of what a named seller was asking on a stated date. It is not an offer, not a quotation and not a promise that the price is still available. Currency rates move, VAT and duty treatment differs by market, grade naming is not standardised between sellers, and seasonal demand around Ramadan and Hajj moves the market within weeks.
Availability changes faster than prices. A seller we name may be out of stock, may have stopped stocking Ajwa, or may no longer be trading.
Research moves. Nutrition and food science evolve, and a study that looked promising when we wrote about it may be contradicted later. Where our coverage says evidence is limited or preliminary, that is a statement about the state of the research and not a soft endorsement.
Scholarly positions differ. On religious questions, recognised scholars hold differing views. Where we report that, we are reporting a range of positions, not resolving it.
Errors happen. If you find one, tell us at [email protected] and we will check it. We correct errors and we log substantive corrections rather than editing silently.
Availability of the site
We would like the site to be available all the time and it will not be. Hosting fails, software needs updating, attacks happen and sometimes a change breaks something. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of the site for business or operational reasons, and we will give notice where we reasonably can.
We are not obliged to keep any particular page published. Pages get merged, rewritten, redirected or removed as the site develops. Where a page is removed we will normally redirect its URL to the closest remaining page, but we do not guarantee that a URL you bookmarked will resolve forever.
You are responsible for your own arrangements for accessing the site, including your device, your connection and your security software.
Links to other sites
We link out constantly, because a page about buying dates that names no sellers and a page about nutrition that cites no research would be worthless.
A link is not an endorsement. We link to a seller because it is a real listing that illustrates a real market price, and to a study because it is relevant evidence, not because we vouch for everything the destination says, sells or does.
We do not control third party sites. Their content, pricing, delivery, product quality, customer service, privacy practices and security are their responsibility. Their terms and privacy policies govern your visit, and you should read them before you buy or submit anything.
If you buy something from a site we linked to, your contract is with that seller. Any complaint, return, refund or warranty claim goes to them. We will tell you what we know about a seller we have named, and we cannot do more than that.
Links break and destinations change hands. If a link on this site now points somewhere inappropriate, tell us and we will fix it.
Affiliate relationships
Some outbound links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy after clicking, at no additional cost to you. Advertising may also appear.
This is disclosed in full on the affiliate and advertising disclosure page, which sets out how products and sellers are chosen, that selection is an editorial decision made independently of commission, and where disclosures appear on individual pages. Read that page: it is the substantive commitment, and this paragraph is the pointer to it.
The short version of the commitment: a commission does not buy a recommendation, a position in a table or the removal of a criticism.
Limitation of liability
This section limits what we are responsible for. It is written to be fair rather than maximal, because a clause that overreaches is normally unenforceable in consumer contexts and achieves nothing.
What we never exclude
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that applicable law does not permit us to limit or exclude. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
What we do limit
Subject to the paragraph above, and to the extent permitted by law:
The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranty, express or implied, that the content is accurate, complete, current, fit for a particular purpose or free from error, or that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free from harmful components.
We are not liable for loss or damage arising from your reliance on the content of the site. That includes, in particular: a purchase made on the basis of a price or a seller named here; a dietary or health decision taken on the basis of nutrition content; a religious practice adopted on the basis of our reporting of narrations or scholarly positions; and anything done or not done in reliance on information that has changed since we published it.
We are not liable for business losses. If you use the site for a commercial purpose, we are not liable for lost profit, lost revenue, lost business, business interruption, lost opportunity or loss of goodwill.
We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third parties, including sellers we name, advertisers, affiliate merchants, service providers and the authors of material we cite.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable at the time you used the site.
Unavoidable practical limit
The site is free to read. Where any liability does arise and can lawfully be capped, our total aggregate liability is capped at the greater of the amount you have paid us, which for a free site is nothing, or the minimum amount applicable law requires us to accept.
If a court finds any part of this section unenforceable, the rest of it continues to apply.
Indemnity
If you use the site in breach of these terms, and that breach causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to indemnify us against the reasonable losses, damages, costs and expenses we incur as a result, including reasonable legal fees.
This is limited in three ways that matter. It applies only to claims arising from your breach, not to claims arising from our own content or conduct. It applies only to amounts we actually and reasonably incur, and we will mitigate rather than run up costs. And if you are a consumer, it applies only to the extent the law permits an indemnity to be enforced against a consumer, which in several jurisdictions is narrowly.
In practice this clause exists for one scenario: someone republishes our material or submits infringing material through our comment form, and the rights holder comes to us. It is not a general liability transfer.
Reporting an infringement
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright or another right, write to [email protected] and include:
- Identification of the work you say has been infringed
- The exact URL on this site where the material appears
- An explanation of why you own or control the right
- Your name and contact details
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised
We investigate reports properly. Where a report is well founded we remove or correct the material quickly. Where it is not, we will say so and explain why, because a takedown notice is not self-proving.
We prefer to resolve issues by correction and attribution rather than removal where that satisfies the rights holder.
If part of these terms cannot be enforced
If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Where a provision can be given a narrower meaning that is enforceable, it is read that way rather than struck out.
Failure or delay on our part in enforcing a provision does not waive it. A waiver given once applies only to that occasion.
These terms are between you and us. No third party has the right to enforce them.
Governing law and where disputes are heard
These terms do not name a specific governing law or court. This section exists so that the question is addressed openly rather than hidden, and any dispute is first raised by email so it can be corrected or discussed before formal steps are taken.
If you are a consumer, this is subject to an important qualification. Consumer protection law in the UK, in each EU member state and in a number of other countries gives you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence and to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of your own law, and a choice of law clause on a website cannot take that away. Nothing here is intended to.
Before going to court, email us at [email protected]. Most disagreements about a website come from a factual error, an ambiguous sentence or a link that now points somewhere unexpected, and all three are quicker to fix than to litigate.
Getting in touch about these terms
Email [email protected]. Say which clause you are writing about and what the issue is.
For copyright and takedown matters, say so in your message, because those are handled on a separate track.
Frequently asked questions
Can I quote a price from your tables in my own article?
Yes, with two conditions: name Ajwa Hub as the source with a link to the specific page, and carry the date the price was checked. A price without its date stops being accurate within weeks, and republishing it undated turns a sourced figure into a claim you cannot support.
Can I translate one of your articles into another language?
Not without permission. Translation is a reproduction and an adaptation, and an unreviewed translation of health or religious content is where accurate material turns into dangerous material. Ask, and tell us which language and where it will be published.
Can I use your content to train an AI model?
Not under these terms. Scraping the site to build a training corpus or a competing content database is outside permitted use, except where applicable law expressly allows it, in which case only within those limits.
I bought dates from a seller you named and the order went wrong. What can you do?
We can correct or remove the listing if the seller is no longer reliable, and we want to know. We cannot resolve the order. We are not a party to it, we hold no stock and we have no commercial relationship that lets us intervene. Your contract is with the seller and your remedy is against them.
Why does your liability section exclude so much when the site is free?
Because the subject matter carries real-world consequences and we would rather be honest about the limits than imply a guarantee we cannot give. Content is researched carefully and still cannot be warranted as current and correct for your particular circumstances. Where the law does not permit an exclusion, the exclusion does not apply, which is why the section says so explicitly.
Do I need to agree to anything to read the site?
No. There is no account, no paywall and no consent gate on the articles. Acceptance of these terms happens by using the site, and declining simply means not using it.

Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The usual reasons are a change in how the site operates, the introduction of a new feature such as comments or a newsletter, a change in our commercial arrangements, or a change in the law.
How changes are communicated
- The Last updated date at the top of this page changes on every substantive edit, and the page’s
dateModifiedfield changes with it. - A short summary of what changed sits directly beneath the Last updated line for at least 30 days.
- A material change, meaning one that meaningfully affects your rights or what you are permitted to do, gets advance notice: a notice on the site, and an email to newsletter subscribers where a newsletter is running.
- Minor corrections that do not change meaning are made without notice.
Changes take effect from the date they are published, and continuing to use the site after that date means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept a change, stop using the site.
Earlier versions are retained. Ask at [email protected] if you need to know what these terms said on a particular date.
